Notes on some of the parishioners:

Allen Reverend Hugh was Rector during the 1862 restoration. The 1861 Census declares him with his wife Ann and their family of 6 daughters and one son. He died 22 Mar 1882. There are no commemorations to him within the church. He is buried in the churchyard together with his dau. Jane who died in 1844 (probably in infancy), his dau.s Emma (aged 23) and Rose (aged 26) who died at Cinderford in Jan. and Feb. 1873 and his dau. Ellen Agnes (died aged 27) in Jan 1884. (three daughters predeceased him and the fourth only lived 2 years after him. there is no inscription to his wife)
Butt Miller whose memorials are in stained glass, and who were great benefactors of St.Mary's, lived at Brook House and later at the Manor House (now Prior Park School).
Cottrell George was the Butt Miller coachman
Cuss were farmers and cattle dealers
Greathead Harriet was the Butt Miller family nurse
Hinton were coopers
Hopkins There is a horizontal tombstone which reads:

In loving memory of James Hopkins who died January 18th 1874 aged 47 years and Elizabeth Martha wife of the above who died July 2nd 1881 aged 49 years and Henry James their son who died October 24th 1856 aged 24 days.

Curiously the small vertical stones wedged between the two large table tombs is inscribed: JH 1874, EMH 1881, HJH 1856 (a second memorial?)

Robert Hopkins was Parish Clerk and Sexton circa 1900s

Painter whose tombstones are in the chancel, before the altar, were tanners living at the Priory in C17 and C18
Peare were blacksmiths
Prior Eliza was housekeeper to the Butt Miller family
