Death of the Rev. C. Wray. ----

The death in London last week of the Rev. C. Wray, for many years rector of St. Mary's, was received with much regret by many inhabitants. During his incumbency of St. Mary's, Mr. Wray endeared himself to his parishioners by his generous heart and kindly disposition. He was keenly interested in the lads and youths of the town and was the means of establishing a club for them in a room at the Rectory and later by the provision of the building which today furnishes recreation for a large number of lads and young men. Mr. Wray was for some years a member of the Cricklade and Wootton Bassett Rural District Council, when he was a strong advocate of the payment of travelling expenses of members to the meetings.
